CURO: a trajectory of architecture awards and successes

Throughout its journey, CURO has been more than an architecture studio - it has been a space where creativity and innovation come together to bring unique projects to life. Since its foundation, CURO has valued excellence, standing out not only for the quality of its projects for clients but also for its participation in various architecture competitions, which attest to its academic, theoretical, and sensory skills.

These competitions are not just an opportunity to expand the office portfolio; they are a testament to its commitment to a purpose. Each project submitted to a competition is the result of months of hard work, detailed research, and boundless creativity. It is the expression of the passion and dedication of the entire team, striving to exceed expectations and create something truly personalized.

Over the years, CURO has participated in various competitions, both national and international, earning nominations, honorable mentions, and of course, architecture awards. These recognitions are more than a further validation of our commitment and creativity, both within and outside Portuguese territory.

Iceland Beer Spa: our latest architecture award

One of the most significant moments in the studio's history was its participation in the international competition Iceland Beer Spa, wining the second place. This challenge asked participants to create a new space that would combine a brewery, a coffeeshop, a souvenir shop, and a Beer Spa on the grounds of the Sel Hotel in Iceland. CURO's proposal, Ethereal, stood out for its geometric approach and its ability to create a unique and relaxing experience for visitors. The project, led by the talented architect, Ana Rita, was praised for its originality and harmonious integration into the surrounding environment.

But competitions aren't just about winning architecture awards – they're about challenging yourself to go further, to think differently, and to explore new ideas. They're an opportunity to step out of your comfort zone, to take risks, and to learn from each experience. They're a way to celebrate creativity and innovation and to inspire others to do the same..
