The Apartment Gulbenkian, located in the centre of Águeda, reinterprets an existing home through an intervention focused on functionality, light, and spatial continuity.

The project is organised around a generous social area, where the living and dining areas flow naturally into one another. Timber takes centre stage, featuring throughout the joinery, flooring, and bespoke furniture, while accents of deep blue introduce contrast and identity across the different spaces.

In the more private areas, such as the bedrooms and bathrooms, the material palette remains restrained, combining timber, neutral tones, and indirect lighting solutions. The use of fluted glass allows spaces to be separated without compromising the flow of natural light, reinforcing a sense of continuity throughout the apartment.

The Apartment Gulbenkian is thus a contemporary renewal of an urban home, where joinery, light, and a carefully considered material palette come together to create a balanced, functional, and welcoming atmosphere.
